PIFA – La Compagnie Transe Express

PIFA or The Philadelphia International Festival of the arts which lasted for almost a month, ended on a high note this past Saturday. Pun not intended but happily accepted. Broad street was shut down for about two days and there was a giant street fair filled with Photography, Painting, Those live statues that you stare at until they move, just so you win the game that they don’t know they’re playing, and some pretty amazing acrobatics. On one end of Broad there was a Ferris Wheel, on the other there was a Stage for live music and in the middle rested the giant crane that lifted the final act high into the air. They brought in La Compagnie Transe Express, a French performance group to perform this amazing finale where an orchestra of bells played for multiple acrobatics flipping in the air without a net. It was jaw dropping with that hint of creepy, maybe because their painted faces gave off that clown vibe. Take a look.
